Eat, Sleep, Plan, Repeat!
If you know me, you know that I never really take breaks. During most of my breaks from school, I am assisting a wedding or two, helping other planners or vendors with tasks, having meetings with other planners or vendors to learn more about their businesses and the wedding industry or working on my many upcoming projects. I love learning about anything and everything I can that will set me up for success once I am running my business full-time.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of assisting Deanna from Deanna Nash Events at a wedding at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. I always try to learn something new or practice skills with each wedding in which I assist. While assisting at this wedding, I mainly practiced tablescape design by making sure all elements were perfectly placed, and I organized escort cards alphabetically in a timely manner. Deanna’s weddings are always so easy-going, and she handles everything with such grace!
I also had the opportunity to help with a styling session in Los Angeles, California coordinated by Christine from CMG Events. This photoshoot was for Laura from Instyle Blooms, an amazing florist in the Los Angeles area, and it was photographed by XO and Fetti Photography. We got to style several different tablescapes with many floral arrangements from Instyle Blooms, linens from La Tavola Fine Linen and rentals from Party Pleasers. We also had the privilege to style with several wedding dresses from Camarillo Bridal Boutique and ring boxes from The Mrs. Box and Lace Byrd. It was such an amazing experience working with these vendors and being able to be creative on the spot! I also styled several different styling boards (my favorite pastime) with ring boxes, stationery, blooms, vow booklets and ribbons. It was such a fun weekend!
Working this wedding and photoshoot was a great refresher because I have not been able to assist since September 2017! It was great to have these learning experiences right before my own styled shoot, which is coming up on April 15, 2018!
