LVL Academy
As I begin blogging about what I have learned about wedding planning over the past two years, I want to start by saying how my experience at LVL Academy not only taught me everything I need to know within three days, but it also inspired me to reach for my dreams and taught me how to do so in the most elegant way possible.
I am always on the lookout for new courses, workshops and experiences to enhance my skills and knowledge about what it takes to be a kick-ass wedding planner. From the moment I heard about LVL Academy, I knew that one day I would have to find a way to attend. And I did just that. In November 2017, I am proud to say I attended and received my certificate from LVL Academy.
Why LVL Academy, you might ask? Before I attended, I saw LVL Academy as a one-of-a-kind wedding planner workshop where I could learn a ridiculous amount about what I love and who I dream to be, in just three days. I made life-long connections with the attendees, guest speakers and the hosts/mentors/wedding planner extraordinaires Heather and Lindsay from LVL Weddings & Events.
Now, after attending, I can say that it exceeded my expectations. There is no other workshop where you can learn that much, have such a hands-on experience and walk away with direction and business confidence, or in my case future business. The lesson plan is miraculously stuffed with amazing, crucial topics that every wedding planner should know about, and I am so grateful that I got to have that life- and career-changing experience at such an early stage in my life.
If you are reading this, you know that I have chosen my business name and am now in the process of developing the backbone of my business, all of the branding, templates, content and support team I will need to be successful. A lot of what I am doing now is inspired by what I learned at LVL Academy. I learned that creating a streamlined, repeatable process in my business is so important to save time and my sanity. I learned how to price my packages and title myself (planner, coordinator or designer?). I learned how to get published by Style Me Pretty, a well-known wedding blog for inspiration, vendor searching, tips and tricks. I learned about Aisle Planner, an online event planning platform (My obsession and favorite tool). I learned how to design a tablescape. I learned exactly what photographers, videographers, caterers, venues, florists, event designers, rental companies and many more need from a wedding planner, which was the most important takeaway. All of that, and more, I am applying to my new business right now, and this workshop is applicable to any planner at any stage of their business.
And on top of all of that, some of my other favorite moments/things I learned were:
- How to cut a wedding cake
- How to create a seamless timeline
- How to book weddings
- How to tie ties and bow ties
- What to have in your emergency kit
- How to network
- And SO much more!
These are all skills that would take me years to learn and perfect on my own. With LVL Academy, years were turned into months for me, and I cannot wait to see where my new skills and knowledge take me in my business!
Thank you LVL Academy for giving my business a head start and showing me how to be a successful wedding planner. And a big thank you to my parents for making that experience a reality for me and believing in me. I could not do it without you.
Love always,
